April 6, 1997 Texas Tech Tenth After First Day at Duke InvitationalDURHAM, N.C.- The Texas Tech women's golf team is in 10th place after the first day of the Duke Spring Invitational as the Red Raiders fired a 33-over-par 325. Senior Tamara Parker was the only Red Raider to break 80 with a five-over-par 78 on the par-73, 5,963-yard Duke Golf Course. She is tied for 21st, nine strokes off the pace set by Memphis' Amanda Moltke-Leth, who fired a four-under 69. Coastal Carolina's Laura Thijssen shot a one-under 72. Sophomores Brooke Lowrance (81) and Beth Covington (82) are tied for 43rd and 46th, respectively. Senior Robyn Phillips (84) is tied for 55th. Junior Kristin Kight (85) is tied for 62nd. Tennessee's seven-over 299 is seven shots ahead of North Carolina's 306. Wake Forest and Duke are tied for third at 307. Memphis is fifth at 309.
