Texas Tech Downs Texas-San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO -- Alicia Thompson scored 27 points to lead ninth-ranked Texas Tech to a 57-44 victory over host Texas-San Antonio in the semifinals of the UTSA Classic.

The Red Raiders advance to Sunday's tournament final, where they will meet another Southland Conference team, 18th-ranked Stephen F. Austin.

Julie Lake scored 10 of her 14 points in the first half, when Texas Tech opened a 26-14 lead. Rene Hanebutt finished with eight points for the Red Raiders, who shot 46 percent (19-of-41) from the field.

Rosie Smith scored 16 points and Angel Singleton 10 for the Roadrunners, who shot just 23 percent (14-of-60).
