OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Junior Roger Kieschnick earned his second Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week honor today following an outstanding final week of the 2008 season. The Big 12 Conference announced the awards earlier this afternoon with Oklahoma State's Tyler Lyons and Texas' Austin Woods sharing the pitcher of the week accolade.

Kieschnick, a junior from Rockwall, picks up his second weekly honor from the Big 12 Conference as he was also tabbed the player of the week back on March 10 and is the only player in the league to earn the honor twice this season.

He went 9-for-21 in five games against Dallas Baptist and Baylor. His .429 average helped give the Red Raiders a 3-2 record for the week, including a series win over the Bears. The junior tallied three home runs (including a grand slam) along with two doubles and 11 RBI. All three home runs came in the Baylor series as he recorded two on Friday night and one in game three. Sunday's long ball was a grand slam, marking his second of the season and the fourth of his career. Kieschnick has recorded a conference-leading 17 home runs this season.
