SETTING THE SCENE
The Texas Tech Red Raiders will hit the road yet again this weekend as they travel to face the ninth-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers at Haymarket Park in Lincoln over the weekend. The series against the Huskers will get underway at 6:35 p.m. on Friday evening while game-two is set for 2:05 p.m. on Saturday. The series will conclude on Sunday afternoon with a 1 p.m. first pitch.

It's been a wild week for the Red Raiders as they rebounded from a series-opening loss against Missouri by winning the next two games of the series in the bottom of the ninth to claim a 2-1 series victory over the second-ranked Tigers. Tech then swept a pair of midweek games against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi that gives the Red Raiders their longest win streak of the season at four games. Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Islanders also gave head coach Larry Hays his 1,500th career win and his 805th victory as the skipper of the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech will be facing yet another Top 10 opponent this weekend as the Red Raiders face the Big 12 leading Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Huskers are 7-1-1 in conference play and have a 15-1-1 record at home this season. Nebraska was scheduled to play Creighton in the midweek but that game was postponed to late April due to cold weather. The Huskers claimed a 2-1 series win over Texas in Austin this past weekend and suffered their first conference loss in that series finale on Sunday.

All three games of the Nebraska series will be carried live on the Texas Tech Sports Network (KKAM 1340 in Lubbock) with Robert Giovannetti and Blayne Beal calling the action live from Haymarket Park. Live audio and video (courtesy of Nebraska) will be available on the official website of Texas Tech Athletics, www.texastech.com.
