Recap |  Box Score

  • Oklahoma State now leads the all-time series 26-19 and 15-8 in games played at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater. The Cowboys are now just a half game out of second place in the Big 12 standings behind the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
  • The Red Raiders have now lost four straight contests and fall to 6-17 in Big 12 play. The Red Raiders' loss today puts them in serious jeopardy of missing out on the Big 12 Tournament for the second straight season. Texas Tech will most likely have to win the Sunday finale against OSU and then sweep the Baylor Bears next weekend at Dan Law Field in order to have any chance at making the tournament.
  • Today's loss ensures a losing season for the Red Raiders and it will be their first since 1987, Larry Hays' first as head coach. The 1987 squad finished the year 21-28 and was 7-14 in Southwest Conference play.
  • Freshman backup catcher John Schnettgoecke (San Antonio, Texas/Central Catholic) made his first career appearance today as he replaced Jeremy Mayo defensively in the bottom of the sixth. He then led off the top of the seventh with a base hit in his first career plate appearance.
