COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- No. 11 Texas A&M took advantage of four Texas Tech errors and used a four-run fifth inning to defeat the Red Raiders Friday 5-4 in College Station. Tech drops to 0-1 in the Big 12 and 10-6 overall while Texas A&M improves to 1-0 in the Big 12 and 12-2 overall.

Texas A&M scored four runs in the fifth inning to take a 5-1 lead. Two were scored on two Red Raider errors while the other two were scored on a two-run home run by John Scheschuk.

The Red Raiders battled back with two runs in the top of the sixth on a two-run home run by sophomore Josh Bard, his third of the season. They scored another run in the seventh inning on a wild pitch.

Senior Keith Ginter hit his fifth home run of the season to tie the game at 1-1.

Texas Tech starter, junior Wright (3-1) gave up nine hits and five runs (four earned) in his third complete game of the year. The righthander also walked none and struck out eight batters. Texas A&M's Ryan Rupe (3-1) earned the victory while Eric French earned his third save in 1.2 innings pitched.

Ginter finished 2-4 with a home run, double, RBI and a run scored, Bard went 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored, first baseman Mark Austry went 2-5, outfielder Miles Durham scored a run and had a hit and outfielder Jason Landreth went 1-3 with a run scored.
