PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Junior Brad Ralston pitched a complete game shutout for Texas Tech in leading the Red Raiders to a 4-0 victory against Nevada Saturday at Papago Park in the Oakland A's Spring Training Invitational.

Ralston (2-1) pitched seven innings and allowed only two hits and no runs in earning his second victory of the season. In addition, Ralston struck out a near-career high seven batters. It was his first start of the season and career high for innings pitched.

The game was only seven innings because the two teams were playing in a makeup game of Friday's cancelled game due to rain.

Texas Tech grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second inning. Joe Smith reached base on an error, Jason Huth singled and Keith Ginter walked to load the bases for Mark Austry who drove home two RBI on a line drive single to centerfield. Junior Rodriguez drove home an RBI with a bases loaded walk.

Tech (9-4) added one more run in the fourth on an RBI grounder by Jason Landreth. That was all Ralston needed as Nevada's Ryan Larson earned the loss.
